Task Types

Tasks record the things you (or your employees) need to do or complete to further communications with a contact and record the actions that were taken in response to or to complete a task, along with any notes about the resolution. Use the Task Types function to enter descriptions for the tasks you add to and manage within CRM.

Because tasks can be similar to activities (which record actions and history relating to a specific contact), there may be some overlap between the descriptions you enter here and those you enter in the Activity Types function.

Creating a Task Type

  1. Click the New button, on the toolbar, to open a blank task type record.
  2. Enter a description of the task type in the Description field.
  3. Click the Save button, on the toolbar, to save the new task type.

Editing a Task Type

  1. Select a task type to edit from the Description field.
  2. Edit the field as necessary.
  3. Click the Save button, on the toolbar, to save the edited task type.
  1. Select a task type to delete from the Description field.
  2. Click the Delete button, on the toolbar, to delete the selected task type.
  3. Click Yes at the "Are you sure you want to delete selected record(s)?" prompt.

Produce a Task Type List

Print the Task Types List to view and verify the task type options you entered in the Setup and Maintenance Task Types function.

  1. Select the print preview button () to preview the list.
  2. The preview report screen appears.
  3. Select the print button () in the toolbar to print your list.
